Sound - Engine at Idle: 64.5dB (+4.1dB) - Static 4,000rpm test: 82.9dB (+2.6dB)
Please Note: The 'non-valved' exhaust removes the use of exhaust valves. When switching drive modes (e.g. Eco to Race mode) your exhaust tone will not change from quieter to louder as before. Using a Non-Valved exhaust will not harm the running of your vehicle, you will simply not have the ability to change your exhaust from a louder to quieter tone when switching drive modes (e.g. Eco to Race mode), however, the Cobra Sport exhaust has been designed with this in mind.
The 'valved' exhaust retains the use of exhaust valves. When switching drive modes (e.g. Eco to Race mode) your exhaust tone will continue to swop from quieter to louder tones as before.
All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied.
Press Release
Mercedes launched the original A 45 AMG in 2013, and it was an instant success, becoming the benchmark hyper hatch and the new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S is taking over from where the previous model left off.
The new Mercedes-AMG A 45 S has a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, just like its predecessor, but the design of the 'M139' AMG engine is heavily revised and now produces 421BHP, 60BHP more than the original A45.
This power is put to the ground via AMG's 4Matic+ All-Wheel Drive system, and the result is a 0-62MPH time of 3.9 seconds and an embarrassed look on the face of any supercar driver when they try and race Affalterbach's latest pocket rocket. However, one area where the AMG A 45 S lacks compared to its predecessor is its exhaust note, which has been significantly tamed at the factory.
Every variant of AMG A-Class has been a tuners dream thanks to their horsepower-hungry engines and extremely planted handling characteristics. Cobra Sport have enjoyed enormous success in this field, with their performance exhausts for both the previous generation A 45 AMG and latest AMG A 35 being amongst the best-selling systems in the market.
Cobra Sport have enhanced the audible exhaust output of the latest generation AMG A 45 S, by opting for 3/76.2mm stainless steel pipework for the biggest upgrade in terms of performance, flow rate and sound levels. The free-flowing Cobra Sport exhaust setup completely transforms the vehicle and will open up the future tuning possibilities.
For those who want to significantly improve sound levels but keep the GPF and standard catalyst in place, Cobra Sport offers their unique rear box delete range. This cat back exhaust setup removes the rear silencer to offer the biggest sound increase whilst keeping a sporty exhaust tone (+11.7dB in cat back non-resonated rear box Delete configuration). The Cobra Sport team were also able to reduce the weight of this setup by an impressive 26% over the OEM system.
