The Toyota GR Yaris has really hit the spot with enthusiast drivers the world over. So that the car has the firepower to match its looks, Toyota created the thrilling G16E-GTS 1.6 litre turbocharged engine. The GR Yaris is however shipped from the factory with a muted exhaust sound leading to a very disappointing driving experience. For those looking to awaken the sound and unlock the performance of their vehicle, Cobra Sport has the solution with their newly released performance exhaust range.
Cobra Sport opted for 3in/76.2mm stainless steel pipework for the biggest upgrade in terms of performance, flow rate and sound levels. The free-flowing precision TIG-welded Cobra Sport exhaust setups completely transform the vehicle and opens up the tuning possibilities of the Toyota GR Yaris.
For those who want to significantly improve sound levels but keep the GPF and standard catalyst in place, Cobra Sport offers their unique Venom range. This GPF back exhaust setup removes the rear silencer to offer the biggest sound increase whilst keeping a sporty exhaust tone (+21.4dB in Venom GPF back configuration). The Cobra Sport team were also able to reduce the weight of this setup by an impressive 33% over the OEM system.
The GR Yaris offers huge tuning potential and Cobra Sport have developed a full turbo back setup for those looking to maximise the potential of their car. The turbo back system has been designed with a 4.5 in/114.3mm 200 cell high flow sports catalyst and is true 3in/76.2mm pipework throughout with no pinch points or reductions. After extensive flow modelling, the decision was made to include a section of 4in/101.6mm pipework from the turbo flange to maximise flow rates directly from the turbo, further aiding tuning potential. A full de-cat setup is also available, which delivers even greater increases in power, torque and sound, for those who demand the ultimate in performance (for track use only).
Cobra Sport have improved the styling of the Toyota GR Yaris creating a noticeably enhanced and balanced look to the rear of the GR Yaris with a choice of dual 4in/101.6mm and 4.5in/114.3mm slash cut highly polished stainless-steel tailpipes. For those looking to take the style upgrade a stage further, upgraded carbon fibre tailpipes are available.
